Texas Instruments has released their adaptive on-time D-CAP2 mode synchronous buck converter, the TPS54327. This allows for a low component count, low standby, cost effective solution for designers and a variety of their end equipment’s power bus regulators. The D-CAP2 mode control provides a fast response without the need of external compensation components.

This device has a low equivalent series resistance output capacitors (POSCAPor SP-CAP) and ultra-lowESRceramic capacitors, which is possible because of the TPS54327’s proprietary circuit. The output voltage is from 0.76 V to 7.0 V and it operates from 4.5-V to 18-VVINinput.

This is a 3-A output single synchronous step down switcher with integrated, highly efficientFETthat is optimized for lower duty cycle applications.
