Analog switch (74HC4052)



  The 74HC4052 is a dual 4-channel analog multiplexer/demultiplexer with common select logic. Each multiplexer has four independent inputs/outputs (pins nY0 to nY3) and a common input/output (pin nZ). The common channel select logics include two digital select inputs (pins S0 and S1) and an active LOW enable input (pin E). When pin E = LOW, one of the four switches is selected (low-impedance ON-state) with pins S0 and S1. When pin E = HIGH, all switches are in the high-impedance OFF-state, independent of pins S0 and S1.


It switches four input signals by the condition of the control lines.
The analog signal of ±5 V(peak) can be switched.
Two sets of switches are housed in this IC. This time, it is using only one set.

This circuit shows an LTC1062 used with a dual four-channel MUX (74HC4052) and an LT311 to provide four different cutoff frequencies (500, 250, 125, and 62.5 Hz). Notice that the clock frequency and the external R×C product are varied simultaneously so that: 1/(6.28RC) =fc/1.64=fclock/1.64. Linear Technology Corporation, Linear Applications Handbook, 1992, p.
